The Big Question

It has been a long time since my last blog post... almost exactly a month!
Things have been a little crazy...
A little very crazy...

We are counting down to the end of our time in Virginia.  Super-Awesome's contract here finishes mid-June.  At which point we shall move to...  somewhere!  The where has not yet been revealed to us.
  • probably back to Canada
  • possibly somewhere else in the US
  • or perhaps somewhere else that is neither of these two places

Where, O Lord, would You have us to go?

We are learning about patience, living prayer-filled existences, and to trust more and more in our Lord and Saviour.  We have already been aware that God's perfect timing on the infinity continuum* is very different that our human timing on the finite continuum, but that lesson is being reviewed and reinforced.

Do you want to know something?

Most of the time there is peace about this unknown.  Some of the time there is not, always when our mind strays from HIM and to our situation and the human impossibility of it.  Worry and anxiety do not help us!
  • Isaiah 26:3   You will keep him in perfect peace, Whose mind is stayed on You, Because he trusts in You.
  • Philippians 4:6-7  Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

Both Super-Awesome and I have been down a road very similar to this one before where "last minute" decisions were made and a big move was made possible in what seemed like very little time.  Hmmm.... roughly 2 and 1/2 years ago when we came to Virginia.

The main difference is that this time, at this very moment, there is not a job that is bringing us somewhere, but rather lack of a job that is sending us away (our visa situation compels us back to Canada).  The application process is underway for several jobs, but the timing is such that we may not know by the time we have to move.  But someOne else does:
  • Isaiah 29:11  For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.
(Yes, I know this is one of the most quoted-out-of-context verses in the Bible.  Yes, I know we are not the Israelites about to be sent to captivity in Babylon for years and years, but there is still meaning that can be applied for our situation!)

So,  we wait

            we pray

                  we trust

we know that God will provide (that He has provided already for our basic needs)

We each have a verse that we are clinging to and that is posted somewhere in our home.

Super-Awesome's (courtesy of his maternal grandfather; one of that faithful man's favorite verses)
  • Psalm 37:25 I have been young, and now am old, yet I have not seen the righteous forsaken or his children begging for bread
and mine, which I've already included above, but will repeat because it is worth repeating!
  • Isaiah 26:3 You will keep him in perfect peace,  Whose mind is stayed on You,  Because he trusts in You.

We'll keep you posted when we have the answer to The Big Question!

*I really wanted to say the space-time continuum, but then my StarTrek NG roots would be showing... and so far there is no rift in the space-time continuum, which could often be blamed for many of the problems the crew of the USS Enterprise faced...
